The courtship behavior of bowerbirds is unique in the bird world. For courtship, the Flame bowerbird builds an arbor. Along a slightly elevated platform, the male builds two parallel walls of small branches. It decorates this "avenue" with objects that it often collects according to its plumage color.
However, the arbor is not used later as a nest, but serves exclusively for the female to be able to select her partner according to the quality of the arbor and the courtship dance shown.
